Anxiety is a tricky beast. Today we are hitting it from four angles with four strategies for reducing anxiety.

What is the source of your holiday anxiety?

The first strategy is calling it out. In this question I want you to get to the root of your stress. Is it buying gifts that stresses you out? OR is it the financial strain of buying gifts? OR is it the pressure to make people happy? Try to get to the source of your holiday anxiety.

Some of us may look at our paper and find that we are being ridiculous. Others are dealing with darker sadness this season. To you I send a big hug. I hope that these next three prompts help you.

What can you say no to this season?

Saying no is a powerful tool for managing mental health. It enables us to prioritize ourselves. What will you say no to this season?

How are you feeling about the holiday season?

I love the holidays, but that doesn't mean that I feel joyful all the time. We need to be honest with ourselves in order to take care of ourselves. Take a moment to be honest. How are you feeling?

What would a stress-free holiday look like to you?

Sometimes we stress without knowing what we even want. Take a moment to describe what a perfect holiday looks like to you.

Now, go make that dream happen! You may have to modify, but at least you are doing something that brings you joy and reduces your stress.

We will end with affirmations. Choose one of the affirmations below, write it down, and say it out-loud.

  • I have the power to take care of myself this holiday season.

  • It is okay to have highs and lows during the holiday season.

  • My holiday season will include peace and joy.

Happy holidays my friends!
